Abstract Complications after ileal pouch surgery can result in poor pouch function and can have a significant negative impact on a patient's quality of life. Timely diagnosis and appropriate management of complications allows for the best chance of pouch salvage. Many complications require a multimodal approach. As with any reoperative surgery, the success of surgical revision or redo of an ileal pouch is highly dependent on the skill, judgment, and experience of the surgeon and requires an extremely motivated patient. |
