Abstract

Faecal incontinence (FI) is a devastating condition and may affect approximately 8% of the adult population (1-3). Mild forms can be treated conservatively by stool regulation, pelvic floor exercises or biofeedback therapy. However, if conservative treatment fails, a surgical approach can be required.
