William B. Salt, II M.D., founder and president of IBS & Gut Microbiome Solutions, is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Medicine and board certified in internal medicine and gastroenterology. He trained at Vanderbilt University Hospitals and also served as a chief resident in medicine. He has nearly 40 years of experience caring for patients and teaching medical students, residents in training, health care professionals, patients, and the public. Dr. Salt has special interest and expertise in irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and commonly associated dysfunction of the gut microbiome called, small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO). His most recent book is IBS Irritable Bowel Syndrome: A Gastroenterologist Answers Your Questions (2014).
