Lucinda A. Harris, MS, MD, is currently Associate Professor of Medicine, Mayo School of Medicine and Consultant, Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Mayo Clinic Scottsdale. She graduated from the University of Connecticut Medical School. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at the New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia University and her fellowship in Gastroenterology & Hepatology at The New York Hospital /Weill Medical College of Cornell University.

At Mayo she is Co-Director of the Motility Group and has led a patient support group there for IBS. She is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology as well as the American College of Internal Medicine. She is also a member of the International Foundation for Functional Gastrointestinal Disorders, the American Neurogastroenterology and Motility Society and the American Medical Women’s Association. Her special clinical and research interests are in IBS, chronic constipation and pelvic floor disorders as well as celiac disease. She has also written and lectured extensively on these topics and welcomes hearing your questions.

The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology specializes in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the digestive tract and liver. We are one of the largest gastroenterology specialty groups in this region.

The patients receive specialized treatment in one of our multiple subspecialty clinics. These clinics include the motility clinic, esophageal clinic, inflammatory bowel disease clinic, liver clinic, colorectal clinic and the pancreatic and biliary clinic. These subspecialty clinics are staffed with members of the division with advanced training and special interest to provide the best care possible.

The endoscopic procedures performed at our center include esophagogastroduodenoscopy, colonoscopy, enteroscopy, endoscopic ultrasound (EUS) and endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). Other services provided include video capsule endoscopy (VCE), motility studies, 24-pH studies and provocative studies for non-cardiac chest pain.
